Namibian Sketches

The oryx, the desert elephants, are as much a part of the Namibian landscape as the dunes and the rocks

The Namibian landscape and wildlife seem made for monochrome. The lost village of Kolmanskop, the Lutheran church set stark as a cross on a hilltop in Luderitz, the abandoned whaling station, likewise reduce readily to tone and form, lines as plain and bare as a charcoal sketch. The problem is how to select, when every step you take opens another view into a world so vast, so sparse, so strangely compelling.
